Like all my work, people are central to capturing the essence of a place. This piece is deeply inspired by the people and history of Camden Market. Through interviews and informal conversations with those who have been part of the market for over 20 years, I gained insight into how it is the people who have shaped and grown the market into what it is today.

In this artwork, the central character personifies the market’s eclectic and trend-setting spirit. Intertwined with the fabric of the building (with style), they symbolise that beyond bricks and mortar, it is the people who define and cultivate the market’s unique character. Their hands, knitting the structure together, reflect both its creative history and the deep connection of those who inhabit the market. Like vines growing and continually blooming, this piece pays tribute to each individual who has contributed to making Camden Market the thriving place it is today
